It’s almost the end of November and can I tell you it’s been more emotional than usual. November is the month where we celebrate what we are thankful for in our lives and it’s also the month where we bring awareness to Prematurity. As the parent of a preemie, who is now three years old and healthier than ever, I give thanks daily for her successes. This particular November, our family was touched by prematurity again when my niece gave birth to her third little boy at only 24 weeks. Unfortunately, George Peter didn’t survive past 26 hours. George certainly touched a lot of lives and will forever be in our hearts. Now my niece has a sweet little angel watching over her.
The March of Dimes is an organization that works hard to find the reasons premature births happen and ways to prevent it. Honestly, before we were touched by prematurity with Ellie, we didn’t give much thought to this but have since been big supporters of the organization. We have donated money and time and this coming Spring, we will once again participate in the March for Babies walk in Cleveland, held on May 1, 2016. We walk as a family to celebrate the gift we have been given and to celebrate all the families that face struggles that prematurity can cause. We are raising money for this walk and as we are approaching the “giving season”, we are asking that you possibly add a donation to our walk. We appreciate anything you are able to share. All proceeds go directly to the March of Dimes.
Our family link is where you can go to donate or even sign up to walk with us. We would love to have you join us.
So with the end of November coming to a close, I am truly thankful for all the blessings in my life, especially my fantastic husband, my three healthy children, my new son-in-law and all the great people I get to call family. Although we all won’t be together for Thanksgiving, they are always in our hearts. Are you spending the holidays with your family? Are you traveling? Whatever your plans, I wish everyone a blessed Thanksgiving and may your gifts be bountiful.
